Verbal-Visual Poetry Collage In this assignment, you will use the poem you commented on for Task 1 and create a verbal-visual collage to illustrate its use of imagery and symbolism. It should consist of both words and images that best illustrate how the imagery and symbolism transform the literal meaning of the words used by the author. You should not set out to depict each image or symbol exactly. Rather, it is important that you capture their essence in a collection of words and illustrations arranged on the page in a pleasing and creative fashion. Along with your collage, you will Ima g submit a series of explanations of the selections you made. Follow the format below, and use the exemplar and rubric on the following pages as a guide. Requirements for your collage: Make sure your name is clearly visible. Include at least 5 images that depict the imagery and symbolism in your chosen poem. These may be hand-drawn illustrations, digital graphics, images clipped from magazines, or any other type of image that you can find. Include at least 5 adjectives that describe the theme of the poem. These words do not have to be taken from the actual text of the poem. Include at least 5 excerpts from the poem. These may be multiple-word statements, which are taken directly from the text of the poem. Your collage should be colourful, creative, and visually appealing. The collage may be created digitally or by hand. If done by hand, you will need to submit an image of your work. Requirements for your write-up: Your write-up must include explanations of the 15 or more selections that you made for your collage, as per above.
