Verification of Superposition
The objective of this exercise is to investigate the applicationof the superposition theorem to multiple DC source circuits interms of both voltage and current measurements. Power calculationswill also be examined. The superposition approach is alternative tonodal or mesh analysis to determine the value of a specificvariable (voltage or current). Superposition is analysing a linearcircuit with more than one independent source by calculating thecontribution of each independent source to the variable (voltage orcurrent) separately and then adding them. When applyingsuperposition principle, turn off all independent sources exceptone source. Figure 2 shows the application of the superpositionprinciple. According to Figure 2, the voltage across the resistor(R2) is calculated as V = V1 + V2.
