Vertical Integration in Healthcare

Vertical integration in healthcare could work. However, would this not require different management skills than those in management at the other hospital may not have?

While there could be collaborative decision-making, the hospital acquiring the physician's practice will be running the show. There are countless cases of vertical integrations failing due to the fact that managing one part of the supply chain is very different from that of the acquiring firm's expertise in management. How can this be overcome?
