Video 8 - Transcontinental Railroad Impact
Please work with your group that you are doing your portfolio project. Every group has access to this forum, so please only post your final document here.
After watching the Transcontinental Railroad video, you will be paired up with a partner (this is the same partner or partner for your portfolio assignment). I want you to think about various ways the transcontinental railroad impacted the country. You will then choose a topic, that no other group has chosen, and go in-depth on that topic about how the transcontinental railroad impacted this aspect of the country's economy, such as communications. As soon as your group figures out what topic you are going to cover post it in the discussion so that other groups do not pick the same one. You are going to create a bullet-point essay. It should be at least 2 pages, single-spaced, 10-point Times New Roman font (the length only includes the bullet point essay - not the title, your names, works cited, etc.) to adequately cover your topic. This replaces about a 10-page paper. I am not looking for sentences, I am looking for knowledge. If you need to adjust a post, you can click the wheel symbol at the top right of your post, and it allows you to edit what you have done or delete something.
You will most likely need to do outside research to do this project, make sure you cite your sources using either MLA or APA.
After you have posted your bullet point essay you should review at least 2 other posts, this is part of your grade. Please try to review ones that have not already been done.
