Virtual teams seem to be everywhere, and more are appearing every day. Firms are enamored with the idea of bringing together talent from many locations without having to pay to bring them together in the same place. Of course, we humans have learned to communicate with one another while face-to-face, not via e-mail, or phone, or video chats so virtual teams face some real communications challenges. Additionally, virtual teaming means that individuals remain within their own culture and organizational behavior as opposed to when they are co-located and thus influenced by a shared environment.
