Well, I have and I'm NOT much of a fanatic of them as having a BIG VISION. I know that goals activates out the conscious mind to focus on a certain outcome, and then causes you to take actions that will move you in the direction of that outcome. But really... How often do you drop a goal? Most likely all the time, most people do, I'm guilty of it and that's natural. But it's because throughout our lives we have learned about creating goals and NOT about having a big vision. However, to get ahead in life, you need something infinitely more powerful than a goal and that's creating the vision of your future. Most people don't have one (and right now you ARE NOT as most people). Here you have 3 reasons you MUST have a clear vision of what you want and not just a goal. 1. Goals are temporary. When I started getting a taste of success and getting certified, I was going based on setting goals, but I ended up finding out that SUCCESSFUL PEOPLE have a compelling BIG VISION of where they are going in life. The biggest mistake is to have a goal without a vision, instead have a PLAN of ACTION with a compelling VISION attached to it. 2. Goals are individual (only for yourself). Once I changed my focus to have a compelling VISION, everything changed in the time I was doing It, NOT ONLY for me, but also for my mom, my brother, my children, my fiancé, and my family in general. You see, when you are going for a goal, you are just chasing it for yourself rather than for what it matters the most. Your family, the people you want it to affect! By the way... Goals DON'T inspire you. 3. Goals are NOT your destination. When you get your first certification you will be so proud of yourself because you put the time and the actions required to acquire your first certification. That feeling it's incredible but ONLY for a few minutes, and then you get the feeling of... Now what? Right there is when the voice in the back of your head will tell you... "Wow, what a hassle and effort just to get this!?" "Should I keep going and go through the same effort, time, and sacrifice to get my second certification!?" This is exactly what happened to me. The great feeling and joy, didn't last for too long when I pass the exam and became certified. So, I don't want this to happen to you. I want your journey to become a 6-Figure Systems or Network Engineer to be enjoyable every step of the way, and with a perception that you are NOT JUST perusing to get a onetime objective (goal), but something so much greater...' You're DREAM! Now, here is the deal... As I already told you, most people don't have a vision of their future, they may have goals but few people have a compelling vision. So, what I want you to do RIGHT NOW is to start creating a compelling and BIG VISION of yourself, because being a visionary is the key to enjoy the journey of YOUR success, so get excited about it! Here are the 2 key steps of creating a VISION for your future. 1. THINK BIG! (you owe it to yourself) Don't be held back by any limiting beliefs or low standards. Donald Trump very well said it... "If you are going to think anyways might as well think BIG". Make sure you are way out of your comfort zone when thinking BIG about your vision of your future, this is where magic happens. Now, I want you to increase your VISION DRAMATICALLY up to 10X more of what you are visioning right now, because even if you get half way, you would have achieve so much more than what you had vision in the first place. Lastly, make sure it motivates you and INSPIRES YOU when you are thinking and visualizing your VISION. 2. Write it down. Until you write it down with a date, it's not real. Use strong powerful language and keep it in the PRESENT tense. For example, just a few statements like... "I AM working as Systems or Network Engineer" "I AM getting paid $65 dollars per hour" "I AM Cisco & Microsoft certified" Trust me, this WORKS!!! This will enforce your mind set to believing more and more to the point that it will end up taking actions that will get you closer and closer to fulfill your vision. Let's create your VISION of your future for the next 90 days and 1 year from now. Remember to THINK BIG! Do NOT include the word "I SHOULD". Only include "I MUST". Answer each question based on 90 days and then answer them once again but 1 year from now. 1. What job position would you be working in? __________________________________________________________________________ __________________________________________________________________________ __________________________________________________________________________ 2. How much would you be making per hour or salary? __________________________________________________________________________ __________________________________________________________________________ __________________________________________________________________________ 3. How would your life look like once you have the position and salary? __________________________________________________________________________ __________________________________________________________________________ __________________________________________________________________________ DO NOT worry about the "how to" to get there, that will come in time, and most of it, you will have it once you complete this book. I just want to end this chapter by telling you to... Step into the VISION you created in your mind, feel the emotion once you are in, and once you're there open your eyes and go for it. BE HUNGRY to get there as soon as possible and step into your vision EVERY SINGLE DAY
