visit the organization with the purpose of observing what you can about the culture and the forces acting upon it. Some of the things you should do to observe are as follows:

• Go to the store and legitimately shop there, but with an eye for what the culture is like.
• Pay close attention to patterns of how customers are treated, including yourself.
• Pay attention to how employees treat each other.
• Pay attention to the order and cleanliness or lack thereof, both in the store and on the outer premises; you may even visit other franchises if they exist, to compare and get a more holistic view of the organization.
• Ask friends and family members for their opinion of the organization and why they feel the way they do.
• Ask one of the organization's employees for directions to another similar store that is nearby and note their cooperativeness or reaction.
• Ask an employee about some of the products or services; then, if it is a large store, move to a different part of the store or visit a neighboring franchise of the same store and ask another employee about some of the products and services.
• Ask if you can borrow their phone and note their reaction and/or a piece of paper and a pencil to write down some information.
• Note the condition of the restroom.
• Note whether there is a place for customer feedback anywhere in the store.
• Pay attention to the display, quality, and price of the products or services.
• Consider the overall experience you have had and/or are having - do you like being in the store? Why or why not?
