Enable Editing X Online PSI Fall 2020 Border Security Report (1596) Due Date: Week 12 | The Breakdown: Students are required to watch the Border Security Video. This is an encounter with a passenger/ ller. There are multiple int multiple interactions within the video. Student will write their report solely on the interaction with the traveller returning from Jamaica. The report should be written in the first person (as if the student is the officer). While watching the video, it will be imperative that the student take detailed notes on the situation as these will be used later to complete your report. It will be good to notate pertinent details such as the date and times of each stage of the encounter with the passenger, physical descriptions, actions taken by the officer and the passenger. If discussing any piece of legislation, th format in the report as well as in the bibliography. Students will use Turnitin with their submissions to ensure authenticity. Border Security Reports will be submitted to the instructor through blackboard. Format: The assignment will consist of a title page, the research content, and a complete assignment should be between 1250-1500 bibliography (non-annotated). The entire assignment shou words (not including the title page or bibliography page!). This will be approximately 5-6 pages of content which means there needs to be a focus on the quality of information - you must address everything that took place in the scenario while answering the Who, What, When, Where, Why and How. The title page will include the a title, the instructor's name, the student's name, the course code, the section code and the word count. These are all required components The bibliography is a basic reference list of the sources used, for example the Customs Act as well as the relevant section that applies to that particular part of the scenario. Lateness Only bona fide medical reasons with proper documentation will be considered by the professor o accommodate lateness. Tips/Suggestions: Do not use terminology you do not understand or can explain fully. 2) use the notes that you took while watching the scenario and plan out your report logically, as if you were really on the job as the officer and would have to testify to this in court at a later date. 3) Articulate all inferences made i.e. "The traveller's hands were shaking when asked routine questions. She avoided eye contact numerous time during our interaction. The signs exhibited are consistent with someone who is nervous." ) If you are unsure of something, ask!
