Walmart has published a document titled, "Ethics - Integrity Builds Trust, Our Code of Conduct."(https://www.walmartethics.com/content/dam/walmartethics/documents/code_of_conduct/Code_of_Conduct_English_US.pdf) It introduces the reader to the behaviors and conduct that create an honest, fair, and objective workplace.

The textbook explains that there are three groups of employees, when it comes to ethics. There's the group of employees that always do the right thing; a second group, also known as the "swing group," that understand right and wrong; however, their ethics depend on the situation they are placed in; and a third group who will always be dishonest anytime it benefits them.

It's believed that a statement of ethics, such as Walmart's, will assist the "swing group" with making sound ethical decisions. Others believe that ethics is something an individual acquires and understands well before the age of employment. These folks believe that a statement of ethics has little influence on this group.

1. Provide an opinion about whether or not a statement of ethics can assist the swing group in making the right decision in the work environment. You should support your position by selecting a topic from Walmart's Code of Conduct (e.g., " Recognize and Avoid Conflict of Interest") and explain why the statement will or will not assist an employee in the swing group with making the right decision. There is no right or wrong opinion. However, I am looking for you to articulate your response.
2. Walmart's Code of Conduct provides a number of question-and-answer scenarios titled, "What If?" Select two (2) scenarios and explain why you believe the answers to those scenarios are unrealistic and will likely not be followed as outlined. If you deem the answers to these scenarios as written in the Code of Conduct unrealistic, does responding differently make it unethical?
