Your introduction clearly states your purpose for writing, and the recommendation section specifically lists your reasons for recommending your type of CSR. But I'd like to see a little more about how this would benefit the company; after all, you need to appeal to the Board of Directors, whom are thinking about the bottom line and the company name. The introduction and recommendation paragraph should also include a preview of your headings or paper sections, as per the rubric. All of your points seemed to be connecting, however, I think a board member would like to see a slightly meatier analysis. I think you should expand a little on what you eliminated, as well. Finally, you followed the rubric very closely regarding formatting, but I would recommend you make a few changes. The Reference page should be double spaced and your MegaTech heading could use some editing so that it doesn't stand out so much from the paper. I would also add to your subject line that this memo is meant to be a recommendation for a CSR model, so that it's more obvious what this is before the reader opens it. TO: Your MegaTech heading really stood out! Your subject line was effective in that a Board member would realize its importance and message before having opened it. Because this is supposed to be written from a direct approach, I would suggest making your introduction a little shorter and having it include a quick preview of your headings. Part of the rubric is that any visuals must be introduced by text. However, you did a great job with context and the title and captions. Make sure that you include the in text citations in the first column of each row of Table 1 (see handout from Dan Tan). For your second visual, make sure that the source is cited using an APA in text citation. Make sure your references are not highlighted when you submit your final draft! In addition, this page should be double spaced and each line of your references after the first line should be indented. Your reference page should also have the heading with the recipients, date, and page number, as mentioned last class. Finally, just a quick suggestion I have is maybe the \"Findings\" heading should precede your \"Analysis\" heading. It seems more correct and easy to follow if you present your data first and then provide your analysis. TO: What a unique idea! Your MegaTech heading is perfect, but I would capitalize your page numbers throughout your page headings (i.e. Page Six). As stated in class, you are not required to justify adopting a CSR initiative in general, just for supporting your recommendation. You also should elaborate a little on why your dropped the two CSR initiatives. The rubric also states each visual must be introduced with text to provide fluidity for your readers. Your title format and caption are accurate for the table, but your chart still needs to be labeled \"Chart 1.\" Finally, I would skim through and fix your grammar, I noticed some words were left out and Word doesn't pick up on things like that. TO: Overall, it seems you knew what you were doing! I just have a handful of suggestions for you regarding format. Each page should have the header with the recipients, date and page number. Any headings that are not major divisions of the report should be left aligned. Your introduction very closely follows the direct approach format, but you still need to gloss over all of the sections of the report. Board members would appreciate a further analysis of each individual type of CSR. I think you did a good job with the one you were actually recommending, buit just expand on your analysis of the four other CSR models. List pros and cons for each of the three you narrowed the selection down to. The tables are intimidating! There is definitely too much text. Summarize the information and use bullets instead!
