Water at 25C is flowing over a flat plate of length 20m, with an inlet velocity of 2m/s. The density of water is 1000kg/m3 and the viscosity is 1cP. i) Calculate the thickness of the hydrodynamic boundary layer at 0.5cm from the leading edge. ii) If the critical Reynold's number is 5105. calculate the distance from the leading edge of the plate at which the turbulent boundary layer starts to form, and also find the boundary layer thickness at 1m distance from the leading edge.
