"We are short-staffed and our boss doesn't want to hire anyone!" or "They keep cutting my hours" or "We need new uniforms!" You may have heard any one or all of these comments whispered among the staff. In a perfect world, we would never want for anything at work because we would never be short-staffed, all be working full tie, and always have fresh-looking uniforms. However, most of the time the reason why these problems exist is because of money and/or budgets. If you were the GM of a hotel that had money problems or budgetary constraints, how would you balance the needs or concerns of the staff if under budgetary constraints or if the hotel has money problems?
