We have seen that we can calculate metrics such as Cycle Time and Capacity by examining a process model. Consider the two examples $($cooking burgers and handling incoming requests via fax or email$)$ we worked through on the slides. Why is it necessary, then, that we still use Process Simulation to further analyze the business process?

A$.$ Capacity and Cycle Time calculations require you to specify the number of incoming cases. On the other hand, you can run the simulation without specifying the number of incoming cases.

B$.$ Actually, you do not need to do both of these. You can infer Process Simulation results based on the Capacity and Cycle time calculations.

C$.$ Capacity and Cycle Time show you how Tasks are executed. Process Simulation allows you to control waiting times between tasks.

D$.$ Capacity and Cycle Time calculations show you the aggregate or average numbers. But they cannot account for variations in the arrival times of cases. We need Process Simulation to understand what can happen if customers arrive in bursts.
