WEEK 09 - Contracts

COLLAPSE

POST ONE: In your first post estimate the number of online contracts that will apply to you and your activities over a four day period when you will be online for most of the days.

DURING THE FOUR DAY PERIOD:

  • Over that four day period, track the number of times that you are doing something that involves a contract. For example, almost every web site that you visit has terms and conditions. Every app that you use has terms and conditions. Almost every software program has a license agreement associated with it. Buy an item online, and there is another contract.
  • For the web site or app that you used the most over the four day period, read the terms and conditions.

POST TWO: For your second post, post: (i) your actual number of contracts for the four day period; (ii) your most used web site or app; (iii) the length in words of the terms and conditions for that web site or app; (iv) describe a provision in the terms and conditions that you believe your classmates should know about before they use the app and explain why; and (v) post a description of what would you do to make the terms and conditions that you read easier to understand.

POST THREE OR MORE: (a) Comment or ask questions about your classmates' posts, and (b) respond to any questions that you are asked about your posts.
