Corrections to make on the Discussion
1a. The first sentence of the paragraph should always start with a topic sentence that summarizes the main idea of the paragraph. So since this is your writing, use your own thoughts for a topic sentence instead of using cited information.
1b. Suggestion for topic sentence: since your discussion is a comparison of the two articles, explain what the two viewpoints pertain to. See resource on what to include in an introductory paragraph.
1c. There are two main viewpoints on the impact of......etc. Provide further background information on the subject matter of your essay. Then end the paragraph with a thesis statement.
2. Once you make a claim you need to support it using cited information as evidence to bolster your ideas.
3. You cannot just make a claim and assume that the reader knows what you are talking about. Explain it so the professor can see that you understand material.
4. Use cited information as evidence to explain the findings of the study.
5. You already said this. Also, what does this statement even mean? Articulate your thoughts clearly by explaining the positive relationship, and don't just say that there is one.
6. Don't assume that the reader knows what you know. Be clear on which article you are referring to.
7. Your discussion is disorganized and somewhat incoherent. First explain the viewpoints of the two articles. Then organize the writing by topic on what they disagree on instead of merging the topics in a single paragraph. For example, you can use their conclusions as one topic, their assumptions as another topic, biases, etc. Don't overuse "conclusion" in the essay.
8. Instead of referring to the article as first and second, use the name of the author. First and second and going back and forth is too confusing to follow.
Example: The two articles reach different conclusions because they use different data from different periods. According to Zaboli et al (2014), ___ explain the main conclusion____ , based on ____ . However, Pakdaman et al (2019) explains the reason for____ is because_____ . Therefore, the difference between the two articles can be explained by _____ .
