Employers must take all complaints of harassment seriously, and if an investigation shows that there is in fact harassment, it must be dealt with immediately. Employers are expected to \"exercise reasonable care to prevent and promptly correct any harassment\" (Quinn, 2010). The employer is deemed responsible if they are involved in the harassment by either taking part in it, or permitting it to continue. Using the case of Daniels v. WorldCom Corp. as an example, if Daniels spoke with his supervisor about the harassment and his claims were dismissed or the employees causing the harassment were not disciplined, then the employer would be held liable.
