We allow people to observe trials to show that our justice system is fair. If there is nothing to hide then there is no point in not allowing people to observe trials as long as they do not cause a disruption. The only time there will not be a gallery is maybe when someone is famous and the gallery would cause too much of a scene. In this instance, the trial would be closed to the public.
