A limited license legal tech (LLLT) or legal technician is someone who is licensed by the Washington Supreme Court.Their duty is to advise and assist people who are in the midst of a divorce, child custody battle, or any other family matters within the state of Washington.Legal techs can give limited legal services within family law by consulting and advising clients, completing and filing necessary court documents, and assisting pro se clients at certain types of hearings and/or settlement.LLLT's are considered to be well trained and experienced and an excellent option if someone cannot afford a lawyer.A licensed paralegal practitioner (LLP) is a person who has earned the required education and knowledge and granted limited authority to practice law only in the area in which they are licensed.

I have heard the terms legal technician, paralegal, and legal assistant before.I always wondered what the actual distinctions were between the three.I always knew education and licensing played a factor but never really understood the job duties and tasks for each.

Paralegals are similar to nurse in that they aide a higher up.Another great medical field examples are physical therapist assistants and aides.The job of an assistant is to assist the person.Paralegals assist the lawyers and the nurses assist the doctors.

I do believe this helps the justice system.Even though nurses, aides, and paralegals assist their respective higher-up, they do lot of grunt work.Paralegals gather all the facts by conducting research and help prepare for litigation and trial.If lawyers did not have assistance, things would not run so smoothly.People could become overwhelmed and miss important minor details.Also it helps to aide people who cannot afford the monumental fees that a lawyer has.Working with a paralegal or tech can help to lower those cost.

I know when I created a will, I mostly communicated with the paralegal.The paralegal always sat in and documented whatever the lawyer and I discussed.After the initial discussion, the paralegal drafted everything and continued all communications for me.Without her, the lawyer would not be able to take on as many clients
