What do you think is a more medically objective standard that is more ethically acceptable than a more patient-specific standard, like substituted judgment, in Mrs. Smith's case? Do you think that substituted judgment is not possible/ in this case for one reason or another, or because you disagree with the general hierarchy of surrogate decision-making?
