What do you think of my classmate's response to my post message and your perspective?
My classmate's response to my post:
I really like your DHCP concept idea. If that could be implemented, it would be an ideal way to help prevent spoofing and hacking. Of course, the major hurdle is connectivity remaining while IP address is changing. Hmmmm, it really makes me think. I really wouldn't be surprised if someone was working on, or had worked on, this idea. Not that they would share it until implementation. I'm all for any idea that helps with security!
My post messages about DHCP:
DHCP is a protocol that which provides some management of the IP addresses, and configure them automatically. In general routers acts as the DHCP servers at workplaces or at home etc.
The following were the five things that I learned while going through the DHCP:
DHCP -
In general, a DHCP server is a form of network that which assigns the IP addresses gateways and other network related connections and configurations automatically to the users' devices. In case of home we use our router as a DHCP server which directly send the requests.
Servers -
Here we made use of windows server 2016 which gets advanced features like virtual compute machines, encryption support and the network is a software defined network.
Configuring DHCP -
Learned to configure by adding the roles and features in the server manager and now click on the start role and feature wizard and choose the role based or feature based on the installation as per our requirement and then move to next step, then choose the server on which I want to configure DHCP and then choose DHCP server roles. After that install some more dependencies that are required for the DHCP server.
Monitoring DHCP -
Continuous verification and identification of the connections over the DHCP takes place in this level.
Maintaining a DHCP -
Learned in how to maintenance involves making sure that the daemon is running properly and verifies and remove the duplicate entries or invalid entries. Continuous evaluation is needed. Using this DHCP concept I would like to share an idea of building a centralized environment that which manages a pool of in addresses and assigns them randomly for a session of time. I.e. whenever a device or user comes into a respected network the device or user gets an in address by the DHCP server automatically, but this IP will change within a few moments without losing any connectivity this random change in the IP transformation helps people in preventing the IP spoofing or some hacking issues related to the IP address.
