WHAT DOES STRATEGIC ALIGNMENT MEAN, AND WHERE DO HR PROFESSIONALS BEGIN?
In order to ensure that the strategic work of HR effectively supports and helps lead the strategic direction of the organization, HR policies, initiatives, programs, and more must be in sync with what the organization has determined to be the strategic priorities for advancing their goals. In other words, these two facets must be aligned.
- Create the definition of what "strategic alignment" means for HR to use as a guide for their efforts and the direction of their work.
- Explain the information you would need as an HR practitioner and leader to ensure that the work of HR is strategically aligned with the organization's strategic priorities and where you might find this information.
- Identify at least one challenge that might impede strategic alignment.
