What is a response to the discussion Hands, Hearts and Paws is an all-breed dog rescue which means they don't have a specific breed or breed type. They rescue any size, age, or breed mix. Pricing has only gone up since Covid. Veterinary costs are inflated and thus adoption fees are inflated. HHP currently prices between $350-$450 which is higher than the local shelter NHS' $185-$200, and lower than a rescue competitor, MuddyPaws, at $400-$600 (NHS, 2023). HHP is a local Omaha, Nebraska rescue. Many of their dogs come from overfull shelters in Louisiana and Missouri. They currently use Facebook and Petfinder as their primary promotional space, with a few interviews here and there on the news. Their target market is primarily middle to high income families. They are open to anyone applying for a dog, but do require any previous pets to be fully up-to-date on vaccines and giving monthly preventative. It can be very costly to update vaccines regularly and even more so when you add the $300-$400/year per dog expense of flea, tick, and heartworm prevention
