(1) World of Toys, Inc., a manufacturer of sporting equipment based in New Hampshire enters into an agreement with Little Things Toy Store to supply 10,000 basket balls. Little Things Toy Store is a national retail chain of sporting goods stores based in Ohio. They also operate several store locations by leasing space in shopping centers throughout the northeast, including New Hampshire. World of Toys, Inc. sues Little Things Toy Store in federal court in New Hampshire for breaking the contract. Can the federal district court in New Hampshire assert personal jurisdiction over Little Things Toy Store? (2) Bayside Foods, Inc. (Bayside) is a New York based firm that sells organic chicken. Although it originally did business exclusively in New York through a small retail stand, Bayside eventually created a website whereby customers throughout the United States could order chicken to be shipped from Bayside's ranch in upstate New York to any city in the United States. When ordering, customers provided their billing and shipping addresses as well as credit card information and could sign up to receive newsletters. Johanna, a resident of Florida, ordered chicken via Bayside's website and became sick after eating the product. Johanna sues Bayside in a federal district court in Florida under product liability theories. Does Bayside have sufficient contact for the Florida court to have personal jurisdiction over it.
