In FY2010, the nationwide mean incarceration sentence for weapon offenses was 73.8 months (table 5.4). However, women served a mean sentence of 52.7 months. We will assume the population standard deviation for all cases was 38 months (pg. 248). Approximately 90'] women (13.7% of convictions were women and there were 6575 convicted weapon offense) received weapons offense sentences in FY2016. Test the claim that women serve a sentence that is less than the national mean of 84 months using a = .05. (hint: o = 38, I had to take some liberties here bc I couldn't nd the std. dev.)
