What is your opinion on this? Do you agree or disagree?
Morality is affected by various factors like family, religion and other non-religious factors like your geographical environment, working environment and culture and educations. Family values and religion have big impact on a person's morality but being religious, on its own, does not ensure moral behavior. Person's Family values and family's faith in religion surely nurtures fundamental moral values .From the reading of "Divine command theory and civil religion" chapter in Boss, I have understood that Moral disputes can be resolved without considering religion. Ethics have to be practiced at a human level. Once we open it up to religious interpretation, there is a scope for endless debate and confusion. Ethics to me is a secular topic. You need to be sensitive and weigh the consequences of business actions to set a code of ethical practices. Religion can provide some kind of model, but to me it is a hindrance. I agree with Paul that no religious belief can justify violations of basic human rights. It should be beyond any family, religious or spiritual believes. (Pg. 10)
