what is your thought on this?
I chose to do some research and deep dive into intentional tort. Intentional tort is an area of civil litigation that is defined as purposefully causing harm or damages to another. In other words, wrongful acts done on purpose. I found an older Supreme Court case; Strong v. Milwaukee. This was a case that the plaintiff wanted damages for a wrongful arrest and imprisonment. The complaint listed that the plaintiff was arrested and imprisoned by a police officer in Milwaukee for a warrant that was issued on August 6th, 1965 for a parking violation that had occurred on July 12th, 1965. The plaintiff was serving in the United States Marine Corps and informed the officer of this. At the time the plaintiff was recovering from wounds received over seas. It seems that the officer made no effort to fact check the plaintiffs concerns. The plaintiff was then arrested against will until a friend was able to pay the funds to release him.
