Surveillance is done without the perpetrator's knowledge. When investigating a worker's compensation case, the investigator is required to do detective work to first find clues to determine whether or not it is a potentially viable fraud case or whether or not it is a legitimate claim. There are a number of questions that the investigator must ask to determine if the employee has filed a legitimate claim. There are several methods that can be used to investigate workers compensation cases, the most common method is surveillance. Surveillance technique falls under "Personal observation" category of evidence square. Employee was working at different place while receiving disability benefits. He is able to perform his job duties at his original work place without any issue. Surveillance is the most appropriate technique. Most employeeswho fake an injury do so because they do not want to work. There's an enterprising employee who thinks he can work at another job while collecting workers compensation from the insurer. The new job maybe seasonal work or could be another job the employee wants to try out before turning in his resignation.
