Prices play a huge role in upply and demand. In a market free of price ontrols, it balances out on its own but when price ontrols are involved, supply is unable to meet the demand which causes shortages and other issues. Most economists will argue that price controls are more harmful than helpful. The last time price controls were used was in the 1970s and while they lowered inflation when the controls were lifted, inflation rose again. However, some economists argue that the 1970s is not a good time to base data on and price controls should be given another shot. Price controls are things like price ceilings and price floors. Price ceilings are the "legal maximum on the price at which a good can be sold" and price floors are the "legal minimum on the price at which a good can be sold" (Mankiw, 2020). Depending on where
