When thinking about poor decisions, there are plenty that come to mind! For this specific discussion I will discuss a decision that effected my boyfriend and my family. My Dad had sold his car to my boyfriend and I, and we were experiencing some issues with it, so we pulled over into a grocery store parking lot and I said it would be fine if we left it there overnight. The next day, we were supposed to go back and get it, but I decided that it would be fine for another night. My decision-making style was not based on any rational thought, it was based on intuition and false confidence. In addition to that, my decision was based on selfishness and self-centeredness, because I didn't feel like dealing with it. Oh, to be young and dumb; I was a much different person back then! What went wrong was that when we went to go back and get it, it had been towed. Previous poor decisions, such as not paying parking tickets (again, young and dumb), meant that it was going to cost way more to get it out than I had to my name. My decisions affected me, my boyfriend, and my parents as my dad had sold us the car simply to help us out, so he was disappointed that I was so irresponsible. Thank God that my decision making has improved since then, although I have a habit to make spontaneous decisions based on feelings rather than rationale. I am working on becoming a better decision-maker, especially when my decisions affect other people.
