After a thorough analysis, the following priority can be assigned 1. PROJECT 901 DEPTH SOUNDER 2. GPS NAVIGATION DEVICE 3. VHF MARINE RADIO Project 901 is an extension of the existing product that has been successful for Techsonics. It's previous interations has been a cashcow for the company and has been well received by customers. Research also shows that the product will do well in the first 3 years facilitating more growth for the company. It scored well on being unique as against the offerings by other companies and at the same time the likelihood them buying them is higher. Research also shows the that customers were fishing enthusiasts and were also ready to spend more to have a better fishing experience and enjoy the sport. Research also showed that the customers felt that it was technologically superior to other competitors in terms of positioning. The company has good existing market share in the depth sounder market and will be able to increase it further. Additionally, if Techsonics, targeted and marketed the product to Salt Water and Great Lake Fishers, they would be able to tap into a newer market that would fuel the growth furthermore. Project 901 with a strong product positioning, substantially higher retail price and a healthy margin for the dealers will help Techsonic achieve the goal it has set out for itself. GPS Navigation Device - A new product category approach with a focus on state-of-the-art technology will help position the company a technological leader. It also ties into Balkcom's vision on growth through new products. It focuses on creating a new category for which the market potential has not been established. VHF is departure from their core competence, and also involves the product being made by outside by a Philippines based low cost vendor, the quality control of the product and then operational could be create product acceptance challenges and also delivery challenges. Also the radio market is fragmented and although customers want features, the concern is they may not buy the product at the cost that Techsonics wishes to sell it which is very high premium for that product in that segment. Also the dealers may have an issue in stocking up the product since they have burned their hands before with margin issues. In terms of announcement at the upcoming annual trade shows I would recommend announcing the GPS Navigation Device. The reasons for the order are as follows.
