what sociological perspective is this "I think there is a tendency for people to think of offshore outsourcing as the source of America's economic problems, but it's really not true. Offshoring is responsible for a very small percentage of job losses due to layoffs. In reality the outsourced 14 million jobs represents just a small fraction of total U.S. jobs. It's important to realize that these numbers represent only initial losses - they don't account for jobs that come back, or new jobs that are made in the process. There is reason to believe that offshore outsourcing increases jobs domestically. Imposing laws to restrict jobs outsourcing could make U.S. companies less competitive. If they are forced to hire expensive U.S. workers, they would have to raise prices. By keeping prices and costs low, corporations can expand and hire more U.S. workers. So, the overall impact is a trade-off and the harmful effects are exaggerated. If you look at the big economic picture, offshore outsourcing has benefits, in terms of better efficiency, improved wages for workers in poorer nations, and more interdependence between nations
