If a director is the only person evaluating the staff and the quality of the program, their viewpoint may be biased and/or a little misguided. Most directors spend a lot of time in their offices, working on a multitude of things that require their attention. They don't have the opportunity to observe everything that happens between the staff and children on a daily basis, so they can't form a full opinion on how the program is running. In order to get complete feedback from all viewpoints, it would be helpful to have both staff and the families fill out surveys periodically. I think it would be a good idea to have the completed surveys remain anonymous, that way everyone can be fully honest with their opinions. The director can then use this input and their own observations to make any changes that are necessary within the staff and program itself
