What type of sampling design, random, non random? "The current data are from Wave 4 when we introduced an EMA into our data collection efforts for in-home participants only. Wave 4 data collection occurred during the COVID-19 pandemic. Thus, these data should be viewed with some caution as media use during the pandemic was unique (Hartshorne et al., 2021; Rideout & Robb, 2020). Retention rates for in-home participants from Wave 1 to Wave 4 were 86.4%. The analytic sample consisted of 231 child-primary caregiver dyads (M age = 41.17 months SD = 3.06 months, range 37-55 months; 131 male, 111 female, one missing). Primary caregivers were primarily female (female = 232, male = 11). In terms of ethnicity, 21% of participants reported being Latinx, with 79% reporting not being Latinx. In terms of race, approximately 67% were White, 6.3% Black, 2.4% Asian American, 0.7% were American Indian/Alaskan Native, 4.2% were multiracial, and 19.3% were other or not listed. Approximately 72.8% of primary caregivers were married, 13% were single-never married, 10% had an unmarried partner living with them, 2% were divorced, and 2% were separated from their partner. Approximately 17.3% of primary caregivers had completed High School or equivalent or less, 32.5% had completed some college or a vocational degree, 32% had completed a bachelor's degree, and 18% had completed a graduate degree
