What was going on in America at this time that may have influenced the growth of PA as a profession? i.e. middle of the industrial revolution, people moved from rural areas to the cities, stark poverty, poor housing, sanitation etc. the Progressive Movement tried to correct many of these things. Lots of new laws and programs were created and needed professional PA to manage them.
