After watching Mark's video a few times, I started taking notes on what seemed important. First, I noticed his physical appearance and his body language. Then, I took notes on his past as a child. Lastly, I took notes on his adulthood. This is what I came up with.

Mark conducted his interview voluntarily. He liked to talk with his hands by making a lot of hand gestures. He sometimes liked to joke and seemed in a stable, positive mood. As Mark described his childhood, he brought out that he was like the lawyer of the family. He did not like to listen and would test everything out himself. His Dad described him as argumentative. In school, Mark described himself as the class clown. He liked to make people laugh. Mark explained how he would complete tests at school, but did not complete homework assignments. He figured out that if he got an A on the tests, he would still pass the grade with a D without having to complete the homework. Mark is intelligent and proves this through his reasoning. Mark's childhood seemed fair, with no trauma noted. At the age of 17, Mark tried marijuana. He was kicked out of his house at the age of 18. Mark incurred legal charges against him. Mark did not want to incur any more legal issues with marijuana, so he started using cocaine. His friend then introduced him to crystal meth, which ultimately started his addiction. I noted Mark wanted to feel good. He started using it to feel good, but then continued using it to feel good. After years of use, with the negative consequences of his addiction ruining his life, Mark decided to quit. He is now on the road to recovery.

The diagnosis I came up with is a co-occurring substance-addictive disorder, possibly a mental illness of undiagnosed ADHD. I would ask more questions about his behavior in his childhood and adulthood. I would want to rule out any possible mental illness, so that when I help provide treatment, all of it can be integrated together. As the therapist, I would first establish a connection with Mark to gain his full trust. I would establish common ground with him on the roles of families. I would ask him if I could invite his family into the recovery process. With his permission, I would provide the necessary means for his family to join in some therapy sessions, while explaining to Mark that this is important for his recovery. I would explain the staged approach that he and I would be implementing and completing. If confirmed through additional screening that Mark is suffering from a co-occurring disorder, such as an underlying mental illness, then cognitive-based therapy would also benefit Mark. Group therapy would benefit Mark, since he likes to be around people.

Mark's interview did in fact explain enough information to diagnose him with the addictive disorder. However, I feel I need more in-depth screenings for an underlying mental health illness. Once that information is collected and analyzed, I would fully diagnose Mark and explain the treatment process in more detail.
