What would be the best response to this post?

Security threats are constantly evolving, andcompliance requirementsare becoming increasingly complex" (Exabeam, n.d.). This is true as more and more companies are moving to cloud-based technology and managing more processes online. I work as a Registrar at an elementary school. My secondary role, other than enrollment and registration, is to keep all student records safe and secure from potential inappropriate release. Not only am I required to make sure that student records remain locked and secured in room that no one else has access to; I must also make sure their data is protected in the different software applications that we use. With the partnership of my IT team, I run daily threat and virus checks on my computer. We currently use the software Norton for these checks. I also do several trainings a year with our staff on the importance of only releasing student data to the guardians of the students. The platform that we use online to maintain the student data is Infinite Campus. The school district that we operate under has an IT staff that monitors and manages the software and who gets access to the software. Each staff must go through a training before given access to the software. One portion of the training covers the FERPA act and security. The FERPA act is the Family Education Rights and Privacy act of 1974. This act was enacted to protect student records. As a parent myself, I feel comforted to know that such acts and protection are in place to make sure that mines and my children's information will not fall into the wrong hands.

I believe thatcontrol structures and policies governing security will evolve in the coming years. I feel that there will more regulatory requirements placed on companies. Companies that do not follow these regulatory requirements will receive stricter penalties and even be shut down. I also feel that there will be additional education provided to make sure that data remains secure. I have owned a tax preparation company for 13 years. This year is the first time that the IRS has implemented that tax preparers and companies enact a security plan to protect data. It appears that we are moving in the right direction to protect personal data.
