Part I: How can software assist in project stakeholder management? Do you think social media tools are more likely to help or hinder projects?
Project management software can assist in stakeholder management by having the capability to track issues that need to be resolved. Issues can be sorted by priority so that they can be addressed first. The software can help generate the stakeholder register to assist with the stakeholder analysis. Not only specialized software can be used in project management. Things like word processing, spreadsheets, email, virtual meeting, document sharing, and others may be helpful software to accomplish your part in project management. With all of these software options and the communication that is planned to take place over the life of a project, I do not think that social media tools are necessary to accomplish a project. Sites like LinkedIn may be instrumental in connecting new relationships and getting project management advice but how can we be sure that sensitive information about a project does not fall into the wrong lap? I feel like there are better ways to engage stakeholders that are rooting for the project that is more restricted to those who need to know. Maybe after the project is completed and congratulations wanted to be posted to honor those who worked on the project, then that is understandable to me.
Part II: Can you think of a biblical verse that applies to this week's reading? Why do you think it applies?
In Philippians 2:3-4 it says, "Do nothing from rivalry or conceit but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests but also to the interests of others." I chose this scripture because of the reading this week relating to looking out for stakeholders' interests. Maintaining a good relationship and good communication with the reason we have a project at all is an important part of the project management framework.

Part I: How can software assist in project stakeholder management? Do you think social media tools are more likely to help or hinder projects?
In project management, software can be beneficial in many areas. Software such as Excel, Google Docs, or Powerpoint are tools to organize projects and communicate with the team. They can assist to show stakeholders the expectations, scope, risk, and cost of the project. There is also communication software that assists with keeping in touch throughout the project. These can include social media sites, email, or even text messages. Stakeholders can utilize these social media sites to report the current progress of the project and to address concerns. Using communication software is crucial to project stakeholder management. Everyone must be willing to communicate their ideas and concerns to the whole team. This would help the project run smoothly and end on time. I do believe that social media tools could hinder projects if not used properly. If the team spends more time addressing superfluous topics instead of the project, then a lot of time could be wasted. But there are more pros to social media sites than cons in project management. Social media sites give stakeholders a comfortable place to freely contribute their own ideas, give advice to others and address concerns.
Part II: Can you think of a biblical verse that applies to this week's reading? Why do you think it applies?
"Fools find no pleasure in understanding but delight in airing their own opinions"-Proverbs 18:2
This verse applies to this week's reading because we learned about how to manage and communicate with stakeholders. Project managers and stakeholders alike must be willing to understand each other and consider their ideas. Understanding the project is key to its success. It is important for everyone to be on the same page and try to understand the whole scope, time, and cost of the project.
