What's Our Mission? Write a mission statement for the campus bookstore. A good mission statement says who you are, what you do, what you stand for, and why you do it. Mission statements are hard to write. It is easy to get too wordy. The best of them tell the story and ideals of the organization in 30 seconds or less. Three to five sentences should be sufficient. You have 15 minutes. Consider including some or all of the following: 1. Who is the target audience? 2. What products and services are offered? 3. In what geography does the store operate? 4. What is the moral/ethical position of the store? What are its values? 5. How much and in what ways does the store plan to grow? 6. What is the expectation of profitability?
