When I think of a time within my organization around a time a training experience wasn't optimal was when we rolled out new syringe pumps withing the children's hospital. The pharmacy was the lead in rolling out this and didn't bring nursing in until the end and everything was already planned for the roll out. They provided and required for all team members a one-hour training program that was in a test mode and not pediatric settings. The trainers were unclear for a lot of questions that were asked and disclosed we were the first within their company to roll their pumps out in a children's hospital. As the leaders we escalated concerns such as the drug library not being updated per unit and challenges this would cause if not corrected before to go live date. The company then said they updated the drug libraries when in fact they didn't complete for each individual unit needs, especially within the NICU. It is something we are still dealing with and trying to fix, but it is not affecting the patients and having safety events. I think bringing nursing in from the beginning stages would have been beneficial as they are the
