When I took the Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument (TKI) resulted as having 92% Competer, and 50% Avoider Style. "The competer style is an attempt to gain power." "A recognizable tactic is using pressure to change opinions at another person's expense." (Eilerman, 2017). When decisions need to made quickly, this can be an effective style; however, it can be viewed as confrontational and can result in losing meaningful relationships. I agree with the competer style because it matches my assessment of management conflict style. Even though I agree with the assessment, upon learning the different styles, I would like to learn how to have a more collaborative style and compromising style as long as my values are not compromised. I totally disagree with the avoiding assessment, I usually like to spearhead a lot of situations. My theory behind it is that it's better to get the conflict out in the open and dealt with, resulting in a quicker resolution
