When evaluating a test or questionnaire, there are a few important factors to take into account. It is crucial to determine the test's intended use, target audience, and the particular construct it aims to measure before delving into the test's background and purpose. Consequently, it is critical to conduct a thorough assessment of the theoretical framework to guarantee conceptual clarity and conformity with accepted theories. To guarantee a thorough portrayal of the intended build, the item generation process should be closely examined, with a focus on how things were chosen or constructed. A key component of robust test construction is content validity, which necessitates an evaluation of item representativeness and relevance that frequently involves expert validation. In the future, factor analyses, investigations of convergent and divergent validity, and correlations with relevant measures should be used to examine construct validity. For consistent and reliable results, the test's reliabilitywhich is evaluated using metrics like internal consistency and test-retest reliabilityis essential. A careful review of scoring protocols and interpretation guidelines is equally crucial to ensure understanding and adherence to psychometric concepts. A more detailed understanding is achieved through the use of norms and benchmarking, which compare individual scores to those of larger populations. Real-world applicability depends critically on practical factors like cultural sensitivity and simplicity of administration. It is imperative to thoroughly examine ethical aspects pertaining to informed consent, confidentiality, and participant rights. A user feedback system and test revision channels demonstrate a dedication to continuous improvement. In the end, an extensive test development review should take into account the test's practical implications, usefulness in applied settings or research, and contribution to the comprehension or measurement of the intended construct.

The Parent Play Questionnaire aims to evaluate how frequently parents and infants play together, how supportive parents are of their play, and how much time babies spend on digital media. The items are concise and cover the definition of parent-infant play, parent attitudes towards play and frequency of digital media use. Scoring is straightforward, with a point system based on the frequency and quality of observed play behaviors. Clear guidelines are provided for interpreting scores, allowing for easy categorization of the outcome responses. It also has good psychometric properties demonstrating acceptable reliability and validity. As for pilot testing, they only included U.K.-based families, predominantly with mothers who were not ethnically diverse and, in two samples, highly educated. Therefore, the results may not be applicable cross-culturally and cannot inform on the effects of parent gender in relation to parent-child play.

There are several important principles to follow to "create a" successful questionnaire. The first principle is to put the most important and relevant questions of the study at the beginning because respondents should answer the questions that take the longest to answer first, followed by the easier questions (Rosnow 2014). One example is if the survey is about measuring how emotionally intelligent people are towards themselves and others, one of the first questions should be about recognizing your own emotions which is what Pekaar et al., began with when they asked how much respondents could relate to, "I always know how I feel" (for personal emotional intelligence) and "I am aware of the emotions of the people around me" (for social emotional intelligence)(2018).

Another principle important in creating a survey is having answer choices that are non-biased and provide the most accurate measurement. Pekaar's questionnaire chose to make the answer choices for every question on a Likert scale including both sides or extremities of possible answers. Research indicates that Likert scales are the most unbiased way (when written inclusively) to get the most accurate response to survey questions from respondents (Jhangiani 2019). In addition to that, this survey went through extensive editing to survey as accurate and concise as possible. For example, the researchers wrote that "to avoid biased responses caused by individual differences in emotional responsivity to specific emotions, we decided to delete items that referred to specific emotions" showing how they made efforts to make this questionnaire as unbiased and accurate as possible (Pekaar et, al. 2018). The survey has four sections with seven questions in each that give an idea as to an individual's emotional intelligence. The only critique that could be made is that no demographical information was collected and was justified as not being critical to the purpose of the study, but could provide useful information that could play a role as to why certain answers were given in the survey.

One of the most important factors for the questionnaire is the wording and format of the questions. Clear, concise, short questions are necessary to keep the participants interest and prevent confusion. Response options are also something that need to be clear and short but also include something for everyone. There should be responses that allow for each side of the spectrum as well as a middle zone that allow those that are participating to feel they are supposed to be included in the survey. The order of questions also needs to make sense.

In the Emotional Intelligence questionnaire, the questions were short and concise. There are some questions that allow for some confusion because of the blanket statements that were made and the overall fact of dealing with emotions and identifying specific emotions. The numbering system allowed for each end of the spectrum to be felt but also a middle ground for those that did not feel strongly about either end. Overall, this survey met the standards of what I believe to be a good survey.
