When we think of rich people, especially in the corporate world, we think about bankers, lawyers, analysts, and so on. I think what people, sometimes, don't think about are the long hours these employees work. For many of them, "work-life" balance doesn't really exist; if they get an email or call from their client or manager, they likely will work on it even if its a weekend. Some of them can work up to 80-100 hours a week.

When you take their salary and convert it to an hourly rate, suddenly it doesn't seem so high.

Lately large firms have gotten backlash for not giving their employees more time off etc. In response, some firms have just increased pay, which in some ways, is comical given the situation.

I wonder if more working hours is just going to be an industry standard for these high paying professionals. Or if over time, they can have better work life balance without taking deep pay cuts.
