Classmate 1 As a manager, it is crucial to implement the best practices from business research into your business decisions. "As a manager, you will most likely face dilemmas that you will need to investigate further to be able to decide how to improve or resolve an issue within the business." (Schindler, 2019, p.3) Research is the solution to everything! It's informative, teaches, and guides everyone in the correct direction. It also saves time and money and improves the company processes. The government "customer" wants to know why your defects are higher this month than the previous months, even though you have been building the same product for years. You can't say you don't know; that's not the information the customer wants to hear. You can quickly lose a multi-million-dollar contract right there, which can cause millions to lose their jobs over a silly answer. First, you will pull your data from the database and filter it by the defects for that specific program request. Then, you will assort it by the highest defect and see where the most non-conformance is found. But you still need to finish; you then have to review the comments of why that antenna element is being written up. Once you notice the highest defect is scratched on the body of the antenna element, you double-check and inspect to see where there are scratches. Are they being touched up with chromate? Are they excessive? Which is the previous step? Where could they have happened? You ask yourself these questions and find an answer to them. You follow the process that the antenna goes through to be built, even the testing process. You see the scratches on the body of the antenna are happening in the machine that inserts the boot due to missing a piece of rubber. Once you realize the machine is not up to start, you must shut it down and send it to be fixed. All Antenna elements done that whole week must go back to inspect to double check it is up to standard. Once the machine is up to standard, it can continue to operate. Much research and steps were taken, and decisions were made to give the customer their answer. But it is an answer that will help you save yourself from getting a level CGAR save your job, and the company millions. This is just one example of the importance of research. You could not only give the customer the answer they were looking for, but you could also avoid more defects and save time and money, which is why research is crucial in a manager's life. One little research can save so much work in the long run. Many tend to take the short root to fix the issue temporarily, but I believe in resolving the problem forever and implementing an effective process. References: Schindler, P. S. (2019). Business Research Methods (13th edition). New York, N Y: McGraw-Hill or Irwin. Classmate 2 I applied business research practices in a marketing role when I analyzed consumer behavior data. I studied customer preferences and purchasing patterns and tailored our marketing campaigns. This data-driven approach resulted in a significant increase in customer engagement and sales. As a business, we also optimized ad spending based on research findings, reducing marketing costs and improving ROI. Implementing these research-based strategies ultimately enhanced our marketing effectiveness and contributed to the company's overall success. A manager like me, I think when we start to consider implementing best practices from business research by incorporating them into our business, we can carefully analyze the available research data and leverage it to inform our strategic decisions that have the potential of shifting the business. This approach ensures that our decisions are well-informed and grounded in empirical evidence, ultimately contributing to the organization's growth and competitiveness. Additionally, I will actively monitor industry trends, consumer behavior, and emerging technologies, allowing me to adapt quickly and seize opportunities for innovation. Moreover, I will allocate resources efficiently by utilizing research insights to identify areas of improvement and streamline operations. This proactive resource management strategy minimizes costs and enhances profitability (Stobierski, 2019). Furthermore, I will prioritize risk assessment and mitigation through thorough research and analysis, enabling me to anticipate and prepare for potential challenges. Again, I will implement rigorous evaluation processes to measure the impact of our initiatives, whether in terms of revenue growth, customer satisfaction, or operational efficiency. This data-driven approach ensures we continually optimize our strategies and achieve sustainable success in an ever-evolving business landscape
