 The federal legislation (CLC II) is silent on this issue 

 The Ontario legislation is silent on this issue

The Ontario legislation allows the employer to cancel the next shift, as long as the notification to those workers on the next shift is completed in time.

The Ontario legislation requires that all of those workers who cannot work due to the shutdown be provided with alternative work at the same rate of pay
