Whether bankruptcy is "bad" or "good" has been debated a lot recently. On one hand, successful business people like Warren Buffett argue that bankruptcy is a sign of failure and that investors have become infatuated with how much they may borrow without understanding how much equity needs to support a loan. (Warren Buffett is known as the "Oracle of Omaha" and is the second richest American after Bill Gates.) On the other hand, Donald Trump's businesses have filed for bankruptcy six times. Trump sees bankruptcy as an investment tool that he would be "stupid" not to take advantage of (his word choice, not mine).
