Who Am I? Scripture addresses this self-concept question in many ways. Here are a few examples: Child of God (John 1:12) Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God-- An overcomer (1 John 5:5) Who is it that overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God. A new creation (II Corinthians 5:17) Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! Redeemed (I Peter 1:18) For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers Forgiven (I John 1:9) If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
