  1.  Why is it so critically important that individuals have access to the courts to appeal their sentences or to address inequities within Prisons?
  2. More so than not, individuals have been sent to the Prison yard [the prison in which he/she will serve their time] while writing, filing and awaiting an outcome on their appeals. It is difficult for these individuals to have access to their lawyers who are filing the appeals on their behalf. Why is it important to have access to legal materials while in prison like a law library or legal research to support the process of filing an appeal or other Tort 1983 cases against the prison?
