FE: Because the water is flat and there is no hill of water blocking the light.

Globe: There really is a hill of water but refraction is bending the light over the water hill and presenting it perfectly to the observer as if the water really was flat. There is no scientific experiment that even suggests this is possible, but the globe model demands that this be true.

Fewest assumptions? FE

Aren't lighthouses on towers so the light is visible from far away? If there was no curvature and height wasn't needed, wouldn't they just make light houses normal houses instead of bothering with the whole tower?

How globes can claim, with a straight face, that Occam's razor favors the globe model is mind-boggling. FE is supported by physical evidence and experience, the globe isn't supported by anything. The earth is flat. I am truly embarrassed I ever believed in the globe.

Here is a phenomenon that is seen on a globe that can't be replicated in some kind of flat Earth model: the Coriolis effect. It would actually be the same in the northern hemisphere, but not the southern.

Roll a paint covered ball toward center of rotating flat Earth model and then away, in southern hemisphere. Is this the direction of motion observed on Earth in the real southern hemisphere due to the Coriolis Effect?
