Widok 113% Zoom |+ Dodaj stron A Wstaw Tabela Wykres Tekst Ksztat Multimedia Komentarz My 2 classmates posted answers for two question creating a post. So, I have 2posts. Now I need to reply to each post (for both questions) writing my opinion in minimum two hundred words. Instruction from my Professor (read it carefully): REPLIES: Read your classmates' posts and select two Initial Posts to respond to. Select posts that present ideas and experiences that are different from your own, since this provides the greatest opportunity for you to develop your own thinking. In your replies, include the following: a quote of the specific statement you are responding to a paraphrasing of the statement to communicate to your classmate how you interpreted it an explanation of how your thinking on the issue is different from your classmate's thinking a question that asks your classmate to elaborate upon some aspect of their thinking Each reply should be at least 200 words in length. When asking your question, consider what aspect of thinking your question is targeting. Your question could be about any of the following standards: Clarity: You found some wording unclear and would like your classmate to rephrase it. Accuracy: You are unsure if something stated is true and would like to see some supporting evidence. Precision: You found a statement to be too general and vague and would some more specifics. Logic: You don't understand how some statements fit together. They seem to be contradictory, and you would like that explained. Depth: You found the response to be too simple. You think your classmate left out some important facts or information that needs to be considered. Breadth: You think the response is "narrow-minded" in the sense that other people might see it differently. You would like your classmate to think about it from another point of view. Fairness: You found some statements to be judgmental. Maybe this wasn't intended, but it came across that way to you. You are asking your classmate to reflect upon whether they have a bias or negative attitude about the issue. Relevance: You found some information shared not to be relevant to the issue or question, or you think some relevant information is being left out of the response. Significance: You think your classmate is making "too big of a deal" of something or is minimizing something. You think something is more important or less important than how they are presenting it. When asking your question, identify the specific standard or standards that you are targeting. Put it in a bold font, so it stands out in your post. This makes your critical thinking "explicit" (that is, out in the open), which is a good way to develop thinking. Which of the "seven sins of memory" have you suffered from the most? Select two for discussion and present a specific example of each that comes from your own life experience. Be as detailed as you can in your description, so we can get a mental picture of the events that transpired. The two "seven sins of memory" that resonate the most with me are persistence and bias. An example that sits with me when talking about persistence is when I got into a car accident four years ago. I wasn't driving the car or in the passenger seat. My good friend got his license that day, and I was looking forward to going with him. In the car accident, the car just missed me, and I believe if it had hit me just a little bit to the left, I would've been in critical condition. It was a very traumatizing experience for me and affected me for a while. At the time of the accident, I had my permit, and I was getting into driving. After the accident, it took me months to get behind the wheel again. It was so bad at a certain point that I had to see someone talk about it. I kept having flashbacks about the accident that I couldn't control, which was very hard to deal with. The example I had with "bias" is me and my friends. I went to the Osheaga Festival, which takes place in Montreal, Canada. A rapper, Big Sean, performed, and one of my friends is a Big Sean fan. He thought he put on a great performance, but deep down, he didn't, and there were a lot of flaws. His biased memory was influenced by him being a fan of Big Sean. I consider this bias. 2. Which of the "seven sins" do you think are most serious, and why? Select two that you think have the strongest negative impact and explain why you have this view. Provide a specific example in your rationale. The two "seven sins" that are the most serious in my opinion are misattribution and persistence. I believe persistence has a strong negative impact because it involves people remembering memories that are traumatic and haunting. Persistence memories can disrupt an individual's day to day life. According to the 'American Psychological Association', persistence is "unwanted recollections that people can't forget (https://www.apa.org/monitor/oct03/ sins#:~:text=Persistence%2D%2Dunwanted%20recollections%20that, of%20post%2Dtraumatic%20stres s%20disorder)." Persistence is the memories that stay in someone's mind, even though they try to erase that memory from their brain. For example, if someone was physically assaulted many times during their childhood. Most likely they will be scarred by this and it will be hard for them to erase the memory. This certain individual may also face disruptions in life due to this traumatic event occurring. I believe misattribution has a strong negative impact because it can lead to misinterpreting a memory from a person or event. According to the Cambridge Dictionary, misattribution is "the act of wrongly saying or thinking that someone or something has a particular quality or feature as a result of someone or something else (https://dictionary.cambridge.org/us/dictionary/english/misattribution)." Misattribution is picking something based on other influences and involvement in something else. An example of this would be if a witness of a crime picks the wrong individual due to misattribution. This can later lead to the innocent individual going to court. I believe this is why misattribution can have a strong negative impact on society. Which of the "seven sins of memory" have you suffered from the most? Select two for discussion and present a specific example of each that comes from your own life experience. Be as detailed as you can in your description, so we can get a mental picture of the events that transpired. The seven sins of memory loss are used in everyday life for people and are very common. I believe that absentmindedness and transience are the two most common sins I suffered from the most. Everyone suffers from absentmindedness in their daily life but especially with technology impacting newer generations and children, absentmindedness is becoming more common than before. One example in my life is my tv remote. I would be sitting down and watching tv and when I decide to get up to use the bathroom or get something to eat, I have trouble finding the remote. Or when I come back from doing whatever I need to I can't find the remote. This would lead me to move the blankets and pillows, check under the couch and in between and sometimes I would completely forget, and it would be in the kitchen. Transience is another sin I suffer from the most in my life. Usually on a Monday going to school after a week's break or long weekend people would ask me how your break was and what you did. I would usually stutter and have a hard time remembering what I did over the break and what was the highlight. Or on a regular weekend or event in my life I would have a hard time remembering what happened and have trouble to describe it. These two sins are what I suffer from the most in my life. In the American Psychological Association "The seven sins of memory" it states "Memory, for all that it does for us every day...for all the feats that can sometimes amaze us, can also be a troublemaker" The American Psychological Association is the largest scientific and professional organization of psychologists in the United States. I believe this statement means that memory has amazing wonders but can also cause serious issues in an individual's everyday life. Memory has both positives and negatives in life. You may want to remember some things but at other times you may want to forget. 2. Which of the "seven sins" do you think are most serious, and why? Select two that you think have the strongest negative impact and explain why you have this view. Provide a specific example in your rationale. Out of the seven sins I believe the worst two are persistence and bias. I believe persistence is a negative sin because this is the memory sin where you want to forget something or a traumatic incident, but you cannot. This can lead a person to get stressed out or suffer from depression because of a hurtful memory. This memory can constantly be in your head and it is hard to just let go and move on. In my life I fractured my lower back. This injury changed my life forever and it's something that I wish I could change. I had this fracture for about a year before I knew it was fractured. Ever since then I've been struggling with back pain and have been constantly stretching and doing exercises to strengthen it. This caused me to be depressed and it took me away from the things I love like working out and playing basketball. This was something I had to suffer mentally and physically. The second sin that I believe is one of the worst is bias. Bias is when you decide how you want to remember and change your memory to your preference or liking. You can do this consciously or unconsciously without even knowing and what may be the truth may actually be an altered truth. Bias can change an incident or period of time in an individual's life. In my personal life sometimes, I use bias when I tell the story of how I lost my 500-dollar wallet. On a flight to Iceland, I put my wallet in the seat pocket in front of me and when departing the airplane, I forgot to grab my wallet from the seat pocket. Now when I tell this story to my friends and family, I changed a specific detail and said that the person next to me stole it while I was sleeping. To save myself from embarrassment I told everyone that somebody stole it, so I don't seem like the idiot who forgot his name brand wallet on the plane. This is bias because I'm altering a memory from my past to others. Please write a reply for the post minimum 200 words Udostpnij Format Dokument
