Wildlife Management Suppose a dam on the Columbia River is to be de-commissioned and removed. It is near the end of its useful life, is in need of repair and the reservoir capacity is nearly 50% lost due to sediment accumulation. Its original purposes were to provide flood control, municipal water and irrigation supply, river transportation of goods, hydroelectricity and flat water recreation. Think about the benefits and costs that would be associated with dam removal. Consider that dollar values for each item are by no means certain over time.
